I discovered Tolkien's Middle-earth through Peter Jackson's film adaptation like a lot of people at the time. While I didn't understand much at first being a non-native English speaker, I rediscovered them a couple of years later with a much better understanding and I have loved them ever since.

Collecting didn't happen until many more years later and Toy Biz were the only collectibles accessible and affordable at the time. While I didn't get to be a die-hard collector and go all the way with them, I collected many of my favourite characters and they definitely hold a special place in my heart though I have moved onto statues since then. As a collector and a photography enthusiast I try to take photos that show the details of collectible pieces that may interest other potential collectors, but I also try, though amateurishly not to miss an opportunity to frame them with style, invoke a mood and reference a point in the story as well.

Later on, with more grasp of language and the prose of Tolkien, I have thouroughly enjoyed reading the Legendarium of Tolkien, from the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings to the Silmarillion, and now the standalone great tales.

While I sometimes amaze myself at how many Middle-earth related projects I've started, including social media pages, groups, guides, wikis, translations and a showcase for my own collection, I realize Middle-earth is home and there's always more to learn and to share with others.
